WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE THRESHOLD?
There are six available lengths (8’3”, 10’3”, 12’3”, 16’3”, 18’3”and 20’3”)
DOES THE RAISED HUMP OF THE THRESHOLD FIT IN FRONT OR BEHIND THE GARAGE DOOR?
The raised hump on the top of the threshold fits behind the garage door to ensure that a tight seal is formed when the garage door is in the closed position.
IS THE THRESHOLD ABLE TO WITHSTAND THE WEIGHT OF A VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN OVER IT?
Yes, the threshold is secured to the floor by a very strong sealant. The threshold has also been tested rigorously to ensure that it stays in place when being driven over.
HOW DOES THE GARAGE DOOR THRESHOLD PERFORM IN DIFFERENT WEATHER CONDITIONS?
Our threshold seals can handle extreme temperatures without any issue. Our specialist sealant/adhesive does become slightly harder to apply in lower temperatures but once installed it will work just fine. If you can, install the threshold above freezing to ensure you get the best seal.
IS THE THRESHOLD EASY TO FIT?
Yes. The threshold should take no longer than 20 minutes to fit. It requires only one adult for fitting and comes with easy-to-follow written fitting instructions. A video showing step-by-step fitting instructions is also available online. Click the fitting instructions tab to watch the video now.
If you have a very uneven garage floor you may either apply extra sealant to any hollow areas so that the threshold is fitted on an even surface or you may purchase our 1" high ramp design threshold which has been designed specifically for uneven garage floors. *Please note however that this threshold will only work for gaps of 1" or less. Alternatively, please contact us for more information/guidance about fitting a threshold on an uneven surface and one of our team will be happy to help you.
HOW LONG AFTER FITTING MAY I STEP ON/DRIVE OVER THE THRESHOLD?
It is recommended that you allow a minimum of 24 hours before stepping on/driving over the threshold to ensure maximum bonding to the floor.
HOW DURABLE IS THE THRESHOLD?
We have designed the threshold to be extremely durable. It is made from a thermoplastic material which is both robust and durable. We also provide a five-year guarantee with the threshold for your peace of mind (T&C's apply).
HOW SAFE IS THE THRESHOLD?
The threshold has been designed with safety in mind. The bright yellow warning line provides a visual reminder to those stepping into/out of the garage and is designed to prevent trips and falls.
The Garadry garage door threshold seal has been designed to form a watertight seal between the garage door and the floor. Additionally, energy costs may be reduced as a result of heat conservation (seal prevents drafts, cold air, snow and wind-blown rainwater from entering the garage through the gap under the garage door). The seal is a viable alternative to an aqua grid. The latter may prove to be both time-consuming and expensive. The product is supplied in kit form with the adhesive required to install the threshold, along with full-color installation instructions, and additionally high-density foam side blocks, which can be used to seal any gaps around the sides of the threshold when in position behind the garage door.
